I know this has been covered before, but a long time ago. I am 31 years old and work full time now in property management. I have 6 year old twins and am not married.
I plan on starting nursing school in January, assuming I pass my TEAS test. :)
I am moving back in with my parents at the end of the month to save money. I plan to pay off all of my credit card debt before I start school. I know im going to need to take out living loans because I will be quitting my job. I will not make it through nursing school if I work at all.
Back in 2005 I had a bk. Luckily, my credit score is in the mid 6's and I think that if I pay off all my cc's it might hit 700 +. I have not had anything bad on there since like 2006. Im worried about not being able to get loans (private) because of my credit history. Anyone else face this problem?

How do you know you won't be able to work while in nursing school? Many of us did/do. As a single parent, I would think that it would be even more important to avoid being saddled with student loan debt after graduation.
Have you worked with your school financial aid to explore all of your alternatives for financial subsidies? You should also apply for as many scholarships as possible. There are many private organizations who award scholarships based on various factors - not just GPA - so you may be pleasantly surprised.
Best of luck to you!

I would love to know the answer to this also.
I know I cant. I had a hard time working full time and taking A&P. I have to put my entire focus on school right now to finish on time. Financial Aid wont talk to me until November. I start classes in January, assuming I pass my teas test.
