I will be graduating form Wright State with my BSN in November. I have racked up a considerable amount of school loans as I have been paying my own way through school. Anybody know about hospitals loan repayment policies in the Dayton or Cincinnnati area?THANKS!!!
All I know about is this: If a nursing school pays for your education, you have to work for them for a specific amount of time. Never heard of anything that you mentioned. I do know that if you have more than one student loan, you can combine them. And with MOST loans, you don't have to start paying them back for six months (I think) after you've graduated.
Hope this helps.

Atrium Medical Center in Middletown (a city right in the -middle- of Dayton and Cincinnati) has a $10,000 loan repayment over 2 years, and you don't have to sign a contract either. You get 2,500 after 6 months, another 2,500 at your 1 year anniversary, and 5,000 at your 2 year anniversary.
Miami Valley Hospital - $10,000 - 5,000 after 6 mo, 2,500 after 1 yr and 2,500 after 2 yrs - no contract signed -- I think the same is for Good Sam
Kettering - $9,000 for 3 years, I can't remember how they split it
Grandview - $9,500 for 3 years, I can't remember how they split it
Keep in mind...all this $$$ is pre-taxed, so the 10K at MVH will probably end up being more like 6K. But what else is there to do???
Hope this help!

I'm a nursing student that works as a PCT at Good Sam and I'll be signing the tuition reimbursement contract soon. At Good Sam, the policy is the same as MVH but I'll have to work for the hospital for 2 yrs after I graduate.
If I leave before the 2 yr contract is completed, I'll owe everything back plus interest.

Oops, I was wrong. At Good Sam, since I'm signing the tuition reimbursement contract, I actually will be submitting a fee bill every quarter and Good Sam will pay my school directly. The hospital will pay up to $7770 towards tuition per calender year for any full-time employee that is in a full-time ASN or BSN program.
In exchange, once I graduate, I will have to work for them for 2 yrs.

I am a PCT at MVH you don't owe them two years. At the valley it's: You owe them 6 months for every quarter. So I have to continue to work for them for how ever long after my last quarter for example...
They gave me money in April. So I started paying them back with TIME in April. So my time will be up in Oct for this quarter. It's not a set amount of time, just how ever long for the number of quarters.
But PCT time counts so I won't have to work for them for 6 months for every quarter they paid for as a nurse... PCT work counts too!

It's weird that MVH and Good Sam are both in the same network but have different policies for tuition reimbursement.
I just spoke with the manager of the Tuition reimbursement program at Good Sam (she gave me all of the paperwork on the program, including the application) and unfortunately, I will have to work for Good Sam for 2 yrs after graduation in order to receive the $7770/yr towards tuition.
Looks like I should transfer to MVH.

I think it depends on how many quarters you take? This is only the 2nd time in the 7 years I've been there that I have had them help me because I don't want to owe anyone anything, kwim?
