LNA and Starting Pay?

U.S.A. New Hampshire

Published

I will have my LNA by the end of July and hope to have a job by early August. I live in the Derry area and just looking for some advice.

I am hoping afterwards to go on to a LPN Program. I am going to babystep it!!

I am hearing that Concord Hospital starts their LNA's at $15 and this is with benefits?

And have also heard Rockingham County nursing home with a starting pay of $20?

I really need to make at least $15 and willing work 2nd shift or EOW. Per diem is also possible.

Does anyone do the bailor (sp?) program? Are you allowed to take a Sat. off here and there for special events or parties. I like the idea of working 2 days and getting paid for 40, but then again family events are always on weekends.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

I WORK AT BAYLOR UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER(IN DALLAS, TX) I AM ASSUMING YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT OUR 2 DAY ALTERNATIVE SHIFTS(I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT OTHER PEOPLE KNEW ABOUT IT) ANYWAY, AT BAYLOR YOU HAVE THE CHOICE OF WHICH TWO DAYS YOU WORK, FRI/SAT, FRI/SUN, OR SAT/SUN. HOWEVER, THESE POSITIONS DON'T AQUIRE PTO LIKE THE REGULAR SHIFT DOES, SO I AM NOT SO SURE HOW EASY IT IS TO GET DAYS OFF.

Barbie-

She lives in NH, this is a NH thread and a baylor shift is a form of scheduling.

I know that Wentworth Douglass in Dover currently starts LNA's with no experience at $10.24 per hour. If I am remembering correctly, differential is $1.75 for the 3-11 shift, and $6.50 for 11pm-7am, and Per diem differential is $3.00. My sister also worked as an LNA at Riverwoods in Exeter, and she started around $11/hr back in November. Hope this helps!

i keep hearing about programs here in Nh that train you to get ur LNA license and then u work for them , does anyone know what hospitals, nursing homes, etc have these programs i live in deerfield,NH:)

Concord starts you at $11.14. Speare in Plymouth starts at $9.70, and St Francis in Laconia starts at $10.25. While your in your class you tend ot get the impression that starting wages are higher but expect the lower end. Keep in mind these starting rates do not include a deduction for benefits which will drop the wage as well. Speare for example charges approx $180 per month for a family plan and this is lower then many other employers- so you see your "actual" take home is quite less between this and taxes.

Hello NH!!! I live in northern portion of the state and will be stating my classes for LNA Certification in Mid-October. I'm intersted in talking to anyone in this area with any ideas or tips for a 'newbie'

Thanks in advance
