LIU Accelerated

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hello! I recently found out that I was accepted into LIU Brooklyn's Accelerated Nursing Program. I was hoping to find out about the program through current and former students through here if I should go there.

Also, has anyone else gotten in, as well?

Thank you!

Thanks! I used the HESI practice book they recommended on LIU's website as well lol. I feel like LIU is more disorganized than Pace unfortunately but I am still strongly considering going, especially if I don't get accepted into Pace.

I had an interview on February 21 (or 24th) - somewhere around that time. They told us that there would be another interview date on march 24th and that only 64 students would be accepted into the program. My status has always said "submitted" - never in review or anything like that, which is making me really nervous now. I am going to call them first thing in the morning!

Thanks!

Did you sign up for a registration date with LIU? If so, what date did you register for?

Yea I interviewed on March 24th and the women told us they're admitting 75 this year. Have you called them yet?

Yea! They have on specifically for accelerated students on the 22nd! Which is next week! Sign up for that one and we'll see you there :)

Yes, I did call them and they said they mailed out the decision on April 9th. I received it today actually and was not accepted unfortunately :( Very upset but I'll be going to LIU then! Still happy to be a part of one program and pretty excited to start in June!

As soon as I read this, I checked my mailbox. I wasn't accepted either, :( but it's okay, everything happens for a reason, right? At least we're in a program!

Yeah exactly! A lot of people often don't get into any programs so we should be grateful lol. It's all good! Are you going to commit to LIU now? I had applied to NYU as well but decided I'm not going to wait for a response from them because they're way too expensive for me anyway.

I also applied to NYU but it's just way too expensive and LIU gave me like almost half the tuition scholarships. I thought about NYU for a bit because they have clinicals in really great hospitals in the city (where I'm hoping to work) but then again, I already work for NSLIJ as a nursing assistant so I am in their system. My friend told me that LIU has far more clinicals though and they learned so much more in comparison to her sister who went to NYU.

Yeah same here! I have a great financial package which is definitely what I need right now. I would love to ideally get a job at NSLIJ. I did my internship there in the PICU - it was amazing. I absolutely loved it. That's great to hear that LIU has a ton of clinicals -- I think that's what will prepare us best for actual work in the field.

Awesome!! NSLIJ loves to take people who have had internships there, so you should have no problem getting a job after we graduate! ;) Did you schedule your registration/orientation for next Tuesday?

Yaaayyy! Sounds awesome :) :)

I just did - Tuesday at 10:00 am. This might sound weird since we don't know each other but do you want to meet up at LIU on Tuesday? This way, we at least kind of know each other and don't feel so awkward in a big room full of people lol?

My email is [email protected]

Haha!!!! Great minds think alike! I was just going to ask if you had a facebook or something or if we could possibly meet up on Tuesday! I didn't want to go alone lol sooo yay let's do itttt.

Here's my facebook if you don't think it's creepy to add me looool
