Feb 4, 201412 yr Hello! I recently found out that I was accepted into LIU Brooklyn's Accelerated Nursing Program. I was hoping to find out about the program through current and former students through here if I should go there. Also, has anyone else gotten in, as well?Thank you!
Mar 31, 201412 yr Hi there!I was accepted as well and am strongly considering it! I'm trying to find out more about the program, as I really don't know much about it (other than what is on the website), I e-mailed admissions to try to set up an appt with a counselor or someone to find out more details. What are your thoughts? I also applied to Downstate and Pace but am waiting to hear back! This whole process is such a pain, but I'm also excited (and nervous!) :)-Zoe

But my friend just recently graduated from NYU's Accelerated and her sister graduated from LIU's - she was suggesting LIU because they had way more clinical hours so her sister learned way more than she did. I applied to Pace also, which is my first choice! I just had an interview last Monday so I really want to know if I got in! I prefer Pace because I like the area better, the buildings are way nicer and the last semester, there's a preceptorship...and it's only 11 months!I just really want to find out, already! Ahhh!
Apr 4, 201412 yr Me too! I just want to knowwwww! I also especially want to know since Pace starts in the fall and LIU starts in like a month and a half, so I feel like everything is so up in the air! I think Pace is my first choice too, and I also had my interview a few weeks ago (maybe I saw you there!), but I feel like I kind of bombed those math questions. I know I should be better and taking those sort of things unexpectedly(since nursing totally requires you to think fast), but I got a bit flustered :/How'd you feel about the interview?
Apr 4, 201412 yr Author Yeah! They (Pace) told us it would be a month until we would find out. Did they tell you that too? I need to find out soon because my boyfriend and I are planning to backpack across South East Asia and I don't want to end up paying for a flight and not being able to go because Pace didn't accept me I definitely think I bombed the whole test haha I was so nervous the whole time, so we're on the same boat. I know somebody that didn't even finish theirs I felt terrible after the interview because they had no specific question towards me so I really don't know how they felt about me ((((( how about you?
Apr 5, 201412 yr We are definitely in the same boat! They didn't ask me any specific questions either, but actually I think that's ok? I think maybe it means that our essays etc were more telling than some of the other applicants. But I feel ya, it definitely seemed like the interview was a little pointless. My group was with one woman and we video chatted with three other professors from the other campus. They didn't ask us much. One of our questions was what we'd say if someone asked us about the affordable care act (such a random question) and they also asked us whether or not we planned on working while we were in the program (I think just to make sure that we knew it wouldn't be possible). It was kind of intimidating but I really don't know what they were looking for. I just wanna hear either way! I feel the same way about making plans....I really wanna know if I'll be starting school in six weeks or in 5 months! ahhh!
Apr 5, 201412 yr Author You must have been in my friend's group! She also had one person and three people on video chat and they asked the same question. I interviewed the following hour. I keep checking that doodle website to see if they're adding anymore interview dates and it doesn't look like they have...so I'm hoping they're making decisions now. Have you sent your deposit for LIU yet? Or taken the HESI?
Apr 5, 201412 yr I haven't! I need to go in on Monday to register for the HESI in person.Have you? This whole process feels never-ending!
Apr 5, 201412 yr Author I took it already. It was easy! I just studied the book they suggested and passed everything!
Apr 8, 201412 yr Hi there! Have you heard anything yet? This wait is killing me! I am getting sort of discouraged cause other people seem to be getting responses. I feel like my stats are good? I got all A's and one A- in my prereqs, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.8I got a so so TEAS score (80...don't know if that is good or bad or average or whatever).... I have a BA in Communication & Culture, work as nanny, and volunteer with several organizations. I guess I don't have a TON of medical experience, but isn't that the point of going for a second degree? lolAnyway, just goin' a little stir crazy over here! How bout you? :)

How bout you? :)Nothing with Pace, my friend actually just got waitlisted though and that just made me really worried. I know other people on the forum got in already I'm really hoping we do too! But your stats are excellent! I didn't do so well my first two years undergrad so I graduated with a 3.0. However, I took some classes after college and that significantly picked that up so I hope they see that. LIU just sent me a financial aid letter. They said the whole program is going to be 34k? I thought it was 60k? I'm confused, do you know how much it is?
Apr 8, 201412 yr Oy, yea, at this point I guess I'm expecting to get waitlisted...or rejected...though it's so hard to tell with these guys!! Thanks for the reassurance about my stats...though I also moved around schools a bit, so maybe they don't like that? Who knows!I thought LIU was around 60k too, but 34 is fine by me I was actually just at LIU today to register for my HESI exam (saturday...aaahhh I feel like I've forgotten everything I ever learned!), and the campus gave me a good feeling :) But now of course I'm worried I'm gonna totally blow the exam and not get in anywhere, hah : / Keep me posted and I'll do the same. Sending good vibes your way!
