Specializes in NICU.

None. Graduate school, take NCLEX, get job.

It's not always that easy, but those are the actual steps.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?

Please turn your caps lock off, its difficult to read and conveys a yelling tone of voice. Thanks.

Specializes in NICU Level III.

Just get a job in a NICU and they will train you there. There are certifications you'll need, but not before you start the job.

Specializes in Maternal / Infant Nursing.

I just got hired in a Level III right out of my ADN program!

Specializes in ICN.

I was hired in an ICN one and a half months after I graduated from a 2 year associates degree nursing program. The nursery trained me for three additional months--and for about a year, I still felt like a complete raw recruit. Any specialized knowledge like ECMO or transport is usually offered as a class every other year or so in our unit.
