This would not be caused from anything but ascites right? When they drain 2 1/2 liters, its always ascites related to liver cirrhosis am I not correct?
Often lower abdominal bloat that persists and is not associated with a constipation or eating gas producing foods is a warning sign in women. Ovarian cancer often will not warn till it's too late.
Some cases of ascites are caused by right heart failure as fluids back up in the hepatic circulation instead of returning to the heart. Recently an elderly cardiac patient in our ICU had 3 liters removed by paracentesis, and she still looked huge afterward.
