Listening to Heart Heart Sounds

Hello everyone,

I am a first year nursing student at a 4 year college in NJ. I absolutely love the field of nursing and am doing so many things to prepare mentally, physically, spiritually...but I only have 85% of my hearing...have any of you needed to use a stethoscope with an amplifier?...If so what is you experience using this electronic stethoscope? What brands do you use?

Nurse7love, a friend of mine has hearing issues, she uses the electronic stethoscope from lithmann with the amplifier. It works very well for her, I've listened on it before and it is amazingly clear.

where do I find the nursing gear and disabilities forum

If you are on the full website, you will see a yellow bar across the top. Clicking on "Nurses" will bring up a list of sub forums, including those two. If you are on the mobile site, the same options are in the grey menu at the bottom of the page. Take some time to browse around the site, and you may also find other forums of interest to you.

The electronic one from littman is really expensive. It's nice and even lets you record the heart sounds to review at a later time. A lot of doctors in my hospital have it. It is pricey though, and make sure you never leave it laying around or lend it to people in the hospital, or that's going to disappear.
