Hi,
I have my CNA certification and it has almost been a year and unfortunately I have not found employment. I am desperate to the point where I am willing to leave my job which pays me 15 an hour to work at an agency that pays only 8. I just want to gain experience, have a more flexible schedule and hopefully in the future land a job in a better paying facility. I have been applying to hospitals/nursing homes that say they don't require experience but I haven't received any calls as of yet. I'm still hoping to get an interview someday.
I just set up a LinkedIn profile but I an kind of worried that my current employer or one of my co-workers will see it and see that I am looking for work in the field of Allied Health. Also, my current employer does not know that I am going to school for nursing in the fall. The job I work at now is no where near the field of healthcare and I believe it is what is messing me up on chances of gaining employment. I really would like to work as a CNA while I am in nursing school but I feel as if there is no hope for me right now. I really need to find employment before August because I need a job where I can be able to go to school also. I currently work 6 days a week, 8 hours a day. There is no way possible that I can focus in my education working at this job that I am slowly growing to hate more and more everyday. I know I sound like I am complaining but I have no one else to turn to. All of my friends and family are telling me to stay at this job because of the pay but what's the point of having money if I am miserable everyday. I want to work where I can make a difference in someone's life and provide care , not where the only time I am content or "happy" is payday.
Any advice or encouraging words will be greatly appreciated

Have you tried nursing home or assisted living for a starting point? I mean there's always the summer between year 1 and 2 of nursing school too.

Home health agencies are always looking for CNAs in my area. But I don't know what the pay rate is.
Would there be a better chance of me finding a cna job between year one and two of nursing school ? What about student nurse, what is the difference between student nurse and cna ? Sorry if I am asking too many questions.
Home health pays 9 hr. I think I am going to check it out.
