What are your likes and dislikes about the job?

I have a love hate relationship with the schedule. I love only working 3 or 4 days a week, but I hate working weekends, holidays, and nights.

I love getting a "thank you" from a patient. Makes it worth it.

Some nurses can be very catty and petty, which is reminiscent of junior high school.

I like the variety of nursing jobs- hospitals, office, LTC, research, NP, etc. I an hoping to switch jobs myself very soon.

I like that you can become a nurse in 2 years. I complete my bachelor's online while working.

Nursing does provide a good income. Some people think you shouldn't be in it for the money, and I am NOT in it for the money, but it is sure important. We all need a roof over our head and food to eat.

Likes: computerized charting, personal acknowledgement from DNS "You did a great job."

Dislikes: redundancy when doing an admission, not getting out on time, payroll "'forgetting" to pay you shift differential!
