Hi all!! My name is Kristin, I'm new to this site, this is actually my first post! I just recently registered for excelsior and in the process of info lit and lifespan developmental psych. What I wanted to know from anyone who has taken the lifespan CLEP is, what is a sure bet to study from in order to pass? I have the required books on the way and I was planning on looking into the content guide, anything else?? I'm not used to online style courses where I can't ask the instructor what exactly I should be focusing on in order to pass the exam. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!Kristin
I did the CLEP for H G & D, and used primarily the REA guide. I studied for about 2-3 weeks and passed it. I also had a Life Span Development text I referred to. GOOD LUCK!
I am using studygroup101 for the nursing exams also and doing well . I'm working on reproductive health. I do have most of the textbooks, but older versions except the med-surg and maternal which is the current versions, but I use them mainly to look up things cause most everything is in the studygroup101 study guide. Also I get the practice exams from EC and take them to narrow down the areas that i need to concentrate on more thoroughly. I take about 3-4 weeks to study but I've read that the life span exams are harder so I plan on adding a week or 2 for those.
I took the CLEP Human Growth and Development and got a 64 (not an A on my transcript:grumpy:, but according to scoring guidelines that's pretty high and would be A level...), but I used the clep syllabus and the EC syllabus for life span psych as a guideline and used studygroup101 study guide.
Ooh okay see I was told that the CLEP and the EC lifespan developmental psych exam are 2 different things? I'm taking the EC lifespan dev. Psych exam. Is that what you took? I'm thinking to motivate myself I'm just going to schedule the test before I even start studying so that way, I have a deadline. What do you think? Thanks Chris! Very helpful!!
