Published

Hi just accepted a position with a company called Lifecare, wondering if anyone has worked for them in the past. Candid posts welcome, positive/negative/neutral. I know I'll find out for myself soon, but I'm always surprized by how much information is available on this website to the person that asks...so I'm askin. :twocents:

I worked for Lifecare in Chalmette, La for 5 years until Hurriciane Katrina took it all away, the building, the company, our houses. They never returned to greater New Orleans area, I miss working for them. We were like family.

The day after Katrina, this company started getting the word out for employees to call and let them know if we were ok and find out where we were. Imagine my shock when the very next day a Federal Express envelope was delivered with a check for $1000.00, to my hotel room. The company paid us our salary for a few months and our insurance was paid until the end of 2005.

Miss my Lifecare family. You can'tgo wrong working for them. Sure wish they would come back to our area.

Are you guys talking about Life care centers of America? I got a job with them last week...The first impression was great! I am getting fingerprinted tomorrow.

I worked for Lifecare LTAC. Hospital in a hospital

Have worked for LCC for 2 years, Its like any other facility... its a tough job.... Biggest complaint is always under staffed, they take residents that should be placed in other facilities, and it is nearly impossible to be in compliance with med passes.

The pay isn't great, as a base salary, but there are alot of "perks" that make up for it. 2 wks vacation, 5 paid holidays, 12 sick days per years, bonus days for not using sick days, or calling out....

Most of the staff have been there along time, other then there is a high CNA turnover.

I can so see them continuing to pay the staff that was effected by Katrina I would expect no less from them.. At my facility we have has alot of random tragedies effect several of our staff this year, and it was pretty much like you tell us what you need and we will make it happen. That means alot more then people realize
