Licensure by Endorsement timing?

Published

Hi all - I'm transferring my compact license to PA by endorsement and my employer wants to know how long it will take. Anyone done this recently and can tell me how long it took the process to take? Thanks!

Pennsylvania is NOT compact state. I held a PA license and I had to check 2 google sites just to check. So I believe your licensure will occur via the old-fashioned endorsement route which is also dependent on your current state's license.

Sorry I couldn't help. Hope I read your post right.

Yep I know it's by endorsement ;) Just wondering if anyone went through the process recently and can tell me how long it took for them. My employer wants me to start March 1st and I'm just not sure that's possible!

I transferred to PA also and I am currently using my temporary license which is good for a year. The employers will accept, at least mine did, until you complete the mandatory CEU for mandated reporter that PA requires to process your permanent license. After you complete the 3 hours training for endorsement the wait is up to ten days. Hope this helped a little.

Thank you! I was able to contact the Board of Nursing and they said it takes 20 days to process the temporary permit, and at that time they might give your permanent license if eligible. I was hoping it'd be less than that... in Minnesota it only takes 48 hours to get your temporary permit... but my employer is being flexible!
