License under investigation

Nurses Criminal

I was a member here under a different identity some years ago. About 3 years ago I had a mental breakdown at work and did something very stupid - and criminal.  I was fired and the state board was notified immediately by my supervisors. I have kept them updated and periodically I recieve a letter or email reminding me that my license is under investigation.  Yet nothing has happened.

In the meantime, the criminal aspect has been completely resolved.  A felony charge was reduced to a misdemeanor conviction.  After I served my probation and a certain amount of time had gone by, the record was expunged.  I voluntarily sought out mental health treatment, which I continue to this day.

I did not work as a nurse for over a year, but began working again in a different specialty when I realized my nursing license as yet does not show any penalties and my criminal background has been cleared.

Next year I will need to renew my license, but I don't know how - or if - that will happen.  Why have they not taken action yet?

Part of me doesn't want to ask because I don't want to lose my current job.  I now like what I do.  I also want to buy a house, and that requires 2 years of stable employment in a field.  I don't want to jeopardize that.
