Letters from Calhoun??

Published

I am still waiting on a letter from Calhoun anyone else have one already? It's killing me but I was told it would be the middle of July.

Congrats all for your acceptance to Calhoun's nursing programs! :) Best of luck. Do any of you know if Calhoun has a spring starting nursing program, or is it just every fall? I hope it's spring too! Also, if there is a spring start, when is the application deadline? All I see on their website is a deadline of May the 30th. Surely that would be meant for the Fall. I am wanting to move back home to go to nursing school after all the trouble I'm having here in Colorado with the waitlists, and I know Calhoun is a good school. To all of you, how long did it take you to get accepted to the nursing program (i'm looking at the RN program specifically)? I know I can and will make excellent scores on the Compass reading exam -- does that help bump me up? I do have some medical background too -- did a medical assisting program and CNA training first. Looking to finish A&P soon and maybe Math too, to help give me a higher score. Is it really very hard to get into the A.D.N. program? Any insights would be much appreciated. Thank you, and best wishes to all!

I got in to the PN program but to start they are much the same. I also have had classes with many go in to the bridge or ADN program. Anyway Yes the May 30 deadline was for this fall. Also they only accept students in the fall, but if you haven't finished your math and A&P you could do those things while you wait cause that will help your chances and you would already be a student which is always helpful. Unfortunatly the medical background will not help you because they use a point system and you get points for spacific things (class grades, test scores, ect). Hope this helps.

Hello Ladies-

May I ask: how many points did you all have on your application for the RN program that got accepted?

Just curious. I am applying for Delayed Progression in March of 09.

Thanks!

KT

Hi Ktaylor 9366, I was accepted into the RN program and I believe I had approx. 170 points. I took Micro over the summer, so when I applied- I didn't have those points yet.
