Letters of Acceptance to Golden West College?

Hi there...anyone receive their letters to take the TEAS V for Golden West College for Fall 2011? Thought I would start a thread for those of us who did and may have questions for each other.

Hi Everyone!

This is my first application to GWC , SADDLEBACK AND RCC. GWC seems to be the quickest of all three schools to get back to you. I didn't realize that there were 600 applicants thats crazy! Saddleback was a little over 200 and they accept 60 but my chances with them are slim to none. Rcc is accepting 90 now, which is way better than most. Good luck to everyone! Has anyone gotten any letter from GWC yet?

I haven't received any letter yet. I check the web site a million times a day and haven't seen any updates since 02/26.

I haven't received anything either, but I'm actually glad since all they've sent out are letters for ineligible or unqualified applicants. :specs:

Hi,

I agree no letter yet is a good thing! I have still been checking my mail with a panic daily! I know that we will find out at the end of this month which is very soon! I was reading through previous posts and it seems like most of accepted people receive letters before April. Also,that those that were waitlisted or denied got their letters in April. Has anyone applied before and actually knows or remembers when they got their letter? I hate having to wait!

I was an alternate last year and I didn't receive my letter till almost the end of May.

Hey Rem,

How come you didn't get in? If you were an alternate doesn't that get you a guaranteed spot the following semester? I thought thats what it stated on their website? I think its awful that there were so many applicants. i hope not to sound mean but that a lot didn't qualify. Because they only accept 40!!! thats awful honestly. My chances of getting into Saddleback or slim to none at this point.

When I get my letter I will let you all know. I saw that most people got their acceptance letters during the week of the 20th. I would hate to wait until April to find out! I am not that lucky but im praying that I get in somewhere!

They didn't have that rule about guaranteed admission last year.

doesn't "alternate" mean that you MAY get in ONLY IF an accepted student decline the invitation? I think that an alternate depends on the other students' decisions (who have been accepted). Let's say that a person has been accepted in Saddle back and GWC and she decides to go to Saddle back. Then, her spot in GWC is available for an alternate. I think. Or sometimes, like in my friend's case, she got pregnant and had to postpone school leaving her spot to somebody else. But if the 40 accepted students decide to accept the invitation then, the alternate students don't have a chance unless they're fall in the class "Alternate for fall 2012, if not accepted guarantee for Sprint 2013" .....or something like that.

Yes alternate means if someones spot becomes available you are on the list for the spot. However the Golden West site days that if you're an alternate for Fall and you don't get in then you are automatically accepted for Spring. So any Fall alternates that don't get into Fall as an alternate are in for Spring. That's awesome :)

yeah but there also another class that reads only like "alternate" I think that's the one before the "rejected" one. I don't know. All I know is that I'm starting getting so stress about this. I want my letter!!!!!

I totally understand I want my letter too :) If you're a Spring alternate i am pretty sure you don't have guaranteed admission for Fall.
