We have been hit hard with strep, fifth's disease etc already this year- and I was wanting to send out a friendly reminder to teachers regarding their role in keeping their classroom countertops and student desks wiped down daily with the provided wipes. The custodians do vacuum, clean the sink areas, bathrooms etc- but the countertops and desks are the teacher's responsibility. I want to be sure we are all doing our part in keeping these germs at bay. Does anyone have a template for a letter they use? I want to keep it positive- yet stress how important it is. (I know some desks are not being cleaned often enough.)

Why don't you forward them this article that came out today:

I honestly think sometimes people don't realize the importance of hand washing and keeping surfaces clean and need a reminder of how bad it can get. It is not even December yet so we have a long season off illness ahead of us.

My teachers are pretty OCD about cleaning their rooms, especially this time of year. In most rooms, part of the end of the day routine is passing around the bottle of wipes and each student wipes off their own desk. Our janitors are awesome also, very proactive.

Something along the lines of "Our janitorial staff is being proactive in cleaning but here are some things that you can do in real time to help the deadly outbreak"?
Also be prepared for them to come back on you and ask for Chlorox wipes...
May the odds be ever in your favor!
