I was offered a nt shift job at the best hospital I have always dreamed of working at, I declined bc I couldnt do nts. They kept calling and I finally caved and accepted. The job is good, but nt shift is not jiving with my family. There is no day shift coming up probably ever on my unit as many nt shifters are already "in line" to switch to days. What is the appropriate amount of time I should wait before requesting a transfer? I was only trained 6 days total, and I plan to stay on the unit atleast through our busy season. Thanks.

There are usually policies on how long you have to stay on the unit before a transfer can be applied for. Check your facility policy.

Agreed, check policy. As a new grad in a residency, I have a 2 and a 1/3 year wait to change shifts or departments!

Facilities differ. I have to work in the same department for a year before I can transfer.
I read 6 months...so well see.
