Hi everyone,
I applied last year and didn't get in due to lack of space. I re-submitted my application, let's see what happens this year. I'm also applying to different school for the accelerated programs, I already have a BS.
Here are my stats:
Pre-req GPA: 3.895
Critical Thinking: 830
HESI Score: 87.33%
Wish I did better on the HESI. ?
Hello marmar03,
Your stats look great! From what I have read on other threads, if you get above 800 on CT and above 75 on the HESI , and you meet the GPA requirement, you are a competitive candidate. Good luck!

Hello guys,
I'm applying to the Lehman's generic nursing program and I'm not sure if I have a good shot at getting in. Idk if I should also retake the hesi, if that's allowed.
My overall gpa: 4.0 and I have all As in the preqs so far and I'm currently taking orgo chem
Hesi overall score: 86%
Math: 86
Reading: 84
A&P: 88
CT: 800
Also, is the accelerated program only for those who already have a bachelor or is it something I can apply for as well? If so, do I check both of the boxes on the top left corner of the nursing application?
Hope someone sees this LOL, your input is greatly appreciated!

No you cannot apply for Accelerated one. Yah your HESI score doesn’t seem to help you. But still don’t loose faith on it. You never know. Your GPA is solid though. Good Luck. ?

Hey simplylilly,
From what I have gathered they rank everyone by GPA and then use the Hesi as a tie breaker for those who have similar GPA. Make sure to earn an A in Orgo, you can do it! The generic program generally accepts 100 students so unless their are 99 applicants also applying with a 4.0 GPA I think you are safe. Your Hesi scores meet the criteria for consideration so I think your odds of getting in are more than good assuming your pre-req GPA is 4.0. However, it does not hurt to speak with an advisor to be 100% sure.
Personally I think you got it. ?
Thank you guys for your advice, it lessens my overthinking and discouragement LOL. But do you think it would be good idea for me to retake the hesi, just in case? (if that's allowed b/c i read from other threads that you can't) I'm in a dilemma with that because I could improve my grades for math, a&p, and reading, but critical thinking is like a toss up sort of situation. And plus, it's another 100 something I have to pay to retake it...
I have heard (really read) of others taking the Hesi again to improve scores for Lehman admission . You would have to find out which school has similar testing requirements, their Testing code, and find availability all before the March deadline. I vaguely remember hearing that there was a university in Texas would suffice but for the actual school and code that I can not remember.
I totally understand how you may feel uneasy about your scores but again I think your best best before you spend any extra money is to make sure your Orgo grade is an A and speak with an advisor, they may be able to put you more at ease.
Im going for the accelerated program, I have a 3.9 and from what I read I’m thinking if the accelerated is full then I get considered for the generic. At this point I still believe your 4.0 would out rank my 3.9. If I were in your shoes I would not invest into taking the Hesi again, unless I hear something from the nursing advisor to make me feel differently.
However if this is the route you choose speak with Lehman on Monday because you have to find availability for the test!
Good Luck, lol let us know what you decide!
Hey guys I hope you all are safe and in peace. I just wanted to know whether our results of admission will get delayed or will come out on time (in June) ? Any information about it, please share your thoughts.
Thank you.

Hey Suraj, hope you are safe as well. The only information I’ve been told is that our results will definitely be delayed, but up until when is what many of us are not sure of. We’re just as anxious to know as you ?. Someone else in this forum said that the department will let us know everything that’s going on after the 14th so maybe check back here to get an update, but as of now that’s all we know.
Kindly let us know as well if any of you hear back anything from the admissions.
Stay clean.
