Hey I’m also applying for Fall 2020. This semester I’m taking A&P 2 and Basic Chemistry and then Micro and Orgo next semester. Hoping to get all A’s because I got an B- for A&P 1.
I’m applying for generic.
Wow You seem very busy. Good luck. Let me know how are you studying for HESI A2 specially the critical thinking portion.

Hello. I just wanted to give my two cents. I was applying for the fall 2019 semester at Lehman and I did not get in. I had all As and A- for prerequisites. Except for microbiology. I ended up with a C. My gpa was a 3.4. And my HESI admission exam I scored a 98 overall. And 980/1000 for critical thinking. My advice is for you to apply else where so you have options. I ended up having to take this semester off because I was only hoping on Lehman College. Quite disappointing. I had to end up looking into other schools. I think you need atleast above a 3.6 overall/science gpa to even be looked at in Lehman college. Don’t let that requirement gpa of 2.75 keep you hopeful.
Oh wow ? that makes me worried. I have a gpa of 3.55 in my pre reqs. I still am determined to try. I just wanna know how you studied to get such good scores in HESI ? Please suggest me the books and what can you tell us about the critical thinking questions. Were they based on ANP and nursing type ?
Thanks

I used the elsevier HESI book. And critical thinking is hospital nurse questions. And what you would do.

Hello, I’m kind of concerned for my chances on getting in. Right now I have a 4.0 in prerequisites, but I’m expecting a B- or C in Organic Chemistry. If I do well on the HESI and get an A in micro bio, will I have a good chance still?

Hey Julia, try to get your overall pre reqs GPA as high as possible. I think anything less than 3.5 is not good. And even if you have sth like 3.55 (like mine) I think you need a really good score (above 90) on your HESI A2 test to be considered for the program.

Hello everyone,
I am applying this January for admission to the accelerated program. I just took the HESI and I wanted to share my stats so we can start getting a picture of how we compare to others in the cohort.
Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Critical Thinking: 840
HESI Score: 94.67%
From what I have gathered from prior years' threads, the admission folks rank everyone by the GPA first, then by HESI and critical thinking score. I hope I make the cut for the accelerated program!
Oh, if anyone has questions or needs tips for any of the prereq classes, definitely reach out!

Wow a 4.0 should really help you. I just wanted to ask you how were critical thinking portion questions ? How did you prepare for them ? What to expect for ANP questions and general idea about the HESI exam ?
The critical thinking questions put you in the role of a nurse who needs to address any number of situations including ethical dilemmas, analysis of data, and prioritization of care. Usually, two of the answers will not make sense, but the two remaining answers could both be acceptable. Of course, only one is correct.
For ANP, if you have access to the HESI review book by the testing company, ELSEVIER, there is a website on the inside cover that will hook you up with practice questions that closely mirror the types of questions that appear on the exam.
Lots and lots of ratio and proportion questions on the math...it definitely helps that they provide a digital calculator.
Good luck!
