just wanted to know if it is legal to be working as a cna if i just got licensed as a lpn and i'm looking for work.

As long as you still have an active CNA and do not work outside that scope of practice, it's fine.

I think that it's ok as long as you stay in the scope of practice of the CNA. I would call your state's BON just to make sure though.

where i come from you would be held to the level of your highest license.....be careful

You usually will be held to the standards of your LPN license - even if you are working as an aide. That can cause problems if you find problems but nothing is done - even if you tell the nurse in charge of the pt that you saw a problem and that she needs to do something. Plus, you won't necessarily have the same access to hx, tx records and may miss something. But if family/patient finds out you are a nurse and didn't catch something - could get ugly. Be careful. Consider doing secretary work/non pt care work until you find LPN job if it takes a while.

Thanks alot for all the input. Another ques. is if the LPN lic. is in NYS and i work as an aide in NJ do u still think it would cause or be a problem.:uhoh21:
