Legal Nurse Consultants in Maine?

I have been a nurse manager for the last 6 years and am seriously considering beginning a legal nurse consultant home based practice as supplimental income. My clinical background is mostly med/surg. I would imagine that being a nursing manager gives me a broad perspective on legal issues. I deal every day with errors that have been made (some do to practice and others because the organization does not have adequate policies in place to prevent mistakes). How viable do you think a consulting practice is in rural Maine? I have been looking for a legal nurse consultant in Maine but can not find anyone on line. I am thinking of Vicki's program but would hate to spend $7,000 and then not be able to make it happen. Thoughts?

Your background and years of experience should be a wonderful start as an LNC. As for rural Maine? I have no idea of your area. If you have attorneys, you should be able to market to them just like anywhere. Also, you don't have to limit yourself to Maine. You can market anywhere.

Siri, Can you give us advice on how to become remote analysts? Do you have any links to companys that hire remote analysts? I don't know how to start or where to go to get a work from home remote job.

I am currently taking the Kaplan course, just started. I hope I picked the right course, Vicki's course sounds more exact, if you know what I mean.

siri, I guess I am just nervous that I won't be able to find work when I am done with my studies, as I said before I live in very rural NYS and there is only 1 med mal practice lawyer in my recinity, alot located in Buffalo, NY. I will be asking your advice when I get my certificate from Kaplan in a few months thank you for your help

i understand your hesitation. just remember, you do not have to work solely in your hometown. you can branch out. i have a few clients here in my town. but, the majority are in surrounding cities and several in other states. so, you are not limited.

the biggest thing is your ability to market yourself. and, yes, when you are ready to begin this, i will be glad to assist you, penem10.
