Lee Memorial Internship 2014

Published

Hello everyone! I know there was a topic about this but I thought I'd refresh it for this year. So how many have you applied to the Lee Memorial intern program for Feb 2014? Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you for the advice! Yeah I've been looking up all questions possible, unit specific and everything! I'm trying to make that lasting impression :) Btw, do they let you know right after or at the end of the week?

Is this your second or third? I found out driving home from my third and final. They called with the offer and I accepted. But mine was a lil different. I didn't do the group interviews because of my schedule. My friends typically found out a dew dats after the group interview.

Well, I think this is the last and final interview. I think? O.o I had the phone, the one at the employment center and now this one with the Director. So the last one?

I had two HR interviews, both with some interesting and tough questions. They said I did really well, had my third with a floor manager at health park, interviewed for like an hour plus, good feedback, no offer. All I can say is be prepared for a lot of tell me a time/scenario questions and emphasize teamwork. Draw your answers from any experiences whether they're clinical or not. I had another interview offer from them but HR blew me off for two months before that and I wasn't happy with them. I think they have hordes of experienced and new grad nurses applying. So, I took a job at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and couldn't be happier/more impressed.

Hi jenrodr89! I also have an interview next week tuesday at healthpark with a director of medsurg unit good luck to you! I hope we can get a position,

Pugmom! Hello, so how many interviews are there? I am actually confused bec. The internship manager i interviewed with said that the first was with the HR by phone, second with her, and third with the unit director?? But on the email it said 2nd interview. So i am actually confused lol.

Hi star- what med surg director do you know?

When my friends and I interviewed in the past there were 3. One in person w hr. One in person with the intern development specialists. Then the 3 was with the director of the unit.

It's possible it could have changed since then.

At gulfcoast. Which area are u working now pugmom? And any tips with the director intrview? What was it like?

Star good luck! I hope we all do amazing and get good feedback and get calls back! When I got called for the 2nd interview or 3rd (I'm confused @.@) they said it was with the Director and one other person. (Freaking out much?) Since it seems that everyone's interview is specific units, I kinda wanna know whether or not they're unit specific or just strictly hard behavioral questions since I'm assuming we're all new grads.

Jen do you interview at healthpark too? Lol im getting nervous and excited!!!

Yeah I do! This upcoming Tuesday. I'm very nervous. I've been looking up questions that are behavioral and PICU specific. I'm so freaked out that they're gonna throw something way above my pay grade and I'm gonna look at them like O_____O''''''! I'm more nervous because I don't know how many people are interviewing nor how many people they need!

That is what i feel too jen, i hope we all can ace this lol. Good luck to all of us! Do they pffer us the job right away? If we got it, i hope sooo

They know you are new grads. It will be more situational stuff. And 5 year plan stuff. And why this dept, why should they hire you etc. I know my floor us very teamwork focused so if people don't highlight that in their interview they aren't really considered.
