:tinkbll:anyone got accepted at lee college in baytown for the adn program fall 2011.....i did and i'm so excited.:yeah:...just wanted to know if there's any other an veiwers headed to lee.:nurse:

Tinknurse, I am attending Lee College in Baytown. I apologize but I am quite nervous about my A&P2 grade--so much cramming over a 10 week period. Should I retake it? I am worried the re-take will be construed as a negative toward my acceptance into the nursing program.

:tinkbll:sorry jaylaw23....i must have missed read your post....this is just my :twocents: worth......if youf gpa is good and that's the only c you have....i wouldn't sweat it. i know how ap can be....i took mine in the summer as well...but made a b...that intense speedy summer class can sometimes be a bit much. but if that's the only c....i say move on to any other classes you need to take. so...when do you plan to apply for the nursing :nurse: program? :yeah:

I plan on submitting my application in the Spring. I am taking a full course load in the Fall so I am sure my GPA will be in good shape. This is my first return to Lee since having twins in 2006 and I have to say--studying is so much more difficult with children in the house!!! It seems I don't retain things as easily as I used to :uhoh3:.

I have so many questions but am unsure of who to talk to. I have been to the counseling center and they gave me generic information. So, thank goodness--I found you guys!

The summer course seemed a good idea to get AP2 out of the way but I wonder how much of it will stick with the way you have to cram the information. Luckily I have a great prof (I had to miss a week due to pneumonia but I took the test anyway and did HORRIBLY).

Anyway, wish me luck--2 exams left. If I ace them I can squeek out a B and that would be wonderful :D

:tinkbll:jaelaw23,

i truly know how it is to have to try to jungle the family life and school and sometimes work as well. it's super hard until you find that level place...that kind of smooths it all out...but it will take a minute. yes we are here to help all our fellow classmates...which as you know on the whole forum there's not too many people that attends lee....so yes we have to network with each other and stick together. i wish you great luck on your upcoming exams :lol2:....and feel free to post any questions you may have or pm me.

I’m at the 5yr rule right now and I’m glad that I received my acceptance letter from Lee College. If you have all the prerequisites or about to complete them this summer, you should pick up the application and add the expected starting date for the program. Within the application there’s a list of shots that are required and they cost a lot if you don’t have the money. At the end of the summer semester see if your GPA dropped significantly and then determine if it’s best to retake the class. You can also ask the nursing department what’s the average GPA of the applicants that are applying to the program. The information given by the nursing department can also help in determining if you need to retake the class. I hope the information helps and :grpwlcm:.

I purchased my uniforms but I still haven't purchased my stet or BP :(

hello everybody:d i see we are the future :nurse: graduating class of 2013!! i am ready & can not wait till aug 29! this summer is dragging for me and i am trying to make my self busy. i also see this thread has been busy! well glad i found all of you, though we don't know anybody personally it feels good to have a little group going before the actual program begins! i have all the materials ready to go, just need some more scrubbs. i see tinknurse2b asked if we have the stethoscope ... &yes i have :) i got the glossy light pink "ultra sensitive" one, just incase we take bp i want to make sure i hear it loud and clear so i wont miss a pulse :redpinkhe ! i really feel that this 2 upcoming years are going to be good, as long as we go in there with a positive attitude and let nobody get in the way of our dream ;). well guys keep in touch and lets enjoy this couple of days of rest, because we are going to need it:)

Thanks so much for the advice... I may end up squeeking by with a B!!! I did well on my exam Monday, one more left.

On another note... I am taking Pharm in the fall and I emailed Prof B****** to get textbook information. Her only response was "we will be using the same text as used in the Spring". Can anyone PM me with the txt's needed for Pharm??? It would be MUCH appreciated!!!!:clown:

JaeLaw23: I took pharm this past spring and the textbook we used was Pharmacology and the Nursing Process edition 6 prepared by Julie S.Snyder. The study guide was optional but helpfull in a way & a drug book which is another helpfull little sidekick for the drug cards that you will be required to do in the course. Oh and of course you will have to purchase your own syllabus at the book store for like maybe tops $2.00. Now the prices of the textbook is something I dont know because my good friend let me borrow her books. Hope that helps a bit. :D

Perfect!!! You're a life (and money) saver!!!:D:D Can't wait to get started...
