I am cometely lost what to do. I currently work in a smaller hospital and just accepted a new position at my dream hospital. It's exactly perfect for me down side is it doesn't start until mid August. I am not if I want to leave leave or stay on per diem or casual. I don't even know when my last day is. I want to take some time off before I start. So do I tell my manager/ supervisor now my thoughts/plans. I am torn as I don't want them to say goodbye your done now. But I want to be fair. I've let me excitement take over and I've shared it with many coworkers so I also fear it will get back to them before. Would are suggestions/ideas on what to do and handle this. I've been there or 1.5 years. Thank you.

You know you should not have said anything to your coworkers. Just work out in your own mind your timeline and follow it. If the beans get spilled before then, and you get called on the rumor, I would say to matter-of-factly confirm.

If you've already spilled the beans, I would definitely be respectable and at least let your manager know your plans. That way you can be made aware if there is even a prn position available for you. But... That's just my opinion
