LBCC Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I didn't see a thread for this cycle and figured I should make one as a place to get updated on when people are getting their letters and so on.

It's my first time applying, so hoping for the best! Good luck to everyone. :)

I really hope you get in Fmiller11!! You've stayed so positive and eager and SO supportive of everyone! Those are the qualities that are going to make you a great nurse one day soon!

Awe thank you @compassion_driven. It means a lot! And like wise to you too! Hope you get into the other schools you applied to. If not we will both be on the same boat applying in the spring haha. Oh well everything happens for a reason, right? :)

Hi! @FMiller11

So they split all applicants into 3 GPA pools. The first (and smallest) is everyone with I believe a science GPA of 3.5-4. Next, 3.0-3.5, and last, 2.5-3.0. They only accept 40 students per semester and choose 20 students from the high GPA pool, 10 from the mid range pool, and 10 from the lower end. Literally, everyone's school ID, Science GPA, Overall GPA, and how many times you have applied are inputted into an excel sheet and they randomly choose this way. They will know absolutely nothing about you when they choose. And then maybe your actual application will help determine if you get in or not depending how far along you are in your GE's. But I am not sure if this is the case.

It was explained that they use this method to get a variety of students. So if you have a high GPA in both sciences and overall, don't lose hope. I didn't get in on my first try, and got in the second time! And if you have a lower GPA, keep trying! Like I said, you have a higher chance at getting in the more you apply. Good luck, everyone!

Thanks @vannida

unfortunately I didn't get in again! Good luck to everyone else!
