Lawson State fall Hopefuls 2015

I applied to Lawson's evening RN progam. Any others out there that applied for Fall 2015? Does anyone have an estimated guess what the cut off points will be? Perhaps we can east a little anxiety by talking to others in the same boat lol

I applied as well. Not sure what the cutoff will be. I applied to Jeff State as well. I'm in the boat with you!

I applied to the evening program too. I don't know too much about the program. I wonder is it hard to get in the program.

I have heard it is competitive. I went to the nursing forum they had and (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said they didn't have a set number of people they accept. They accepted those who were highly qualified. It was all about as clear as muddy water lol.

Thank you.

When I went to the information session, they did say they do NOT have a set number of people to accept. They said it just depends on the number of qualified applicants they receive. I've asked before about offering the HPS class in the evening. Someone else asked at the information session. They said if they get enough people interested in that, they will consider it. I don't think it's fair that it's not offered after 5:00, night students will never be able to get those points.

That's a good thing that they don't have a set number. I heard that they are really interested in the people who have there science classes.

Yea when I was at the information session someone did mention about an evening HPS class. It is kind of unfair advantage for people that take day classes. Fortunately I was able to take it during the day this past semester. I wouldnt worry about it too much. Do well in your sciences and the TEAS and you should be fine.

Well I have As in my science classes, but I am just now taking Micro. I wanted to use these points as well. But I'm not stressing about it all. I agree it is an unfair advantage for day students.

Around what time will we receive an acceptance/decline letter?

It will more than likely be mid to late July before we hear anything

I've heard right after the 4th of July, but who really knows? I received something in the mail from them over the weekend, but it wasn't even for me. I am not sure what kind of mailing system they have. I've heard of them mailing incorrect things several times before.
