Hi everyone!
I am new to this website, I have recently applied to Lawrence memorial and am wondering about how long does it take to get a response. I applied in the beginning of August, and in September received an email saying that my application was complete. I'm getting really anxious. Anyone else in the same boat?
Thanks in advance !!
Hello Mayx3c! Thanks for replying so quick. I have a friend that graduated from the program, but since she's a LPN, she didn't have to take NU 101. She told me that she never did the readings because they test on what is on the powerpoints. Do you agree with that? I'd read regardless before coming to class or else I will be loss. She told me that I have to pick my battles, book or powerpoints and emphasized that I had to study smarter, not harder. Your feedback is very important, you started like me, from NU 101.
Thank you!
No problem! Trust me I know the feeling. You'll figure out what works for you because everyone is different. I never read the book in 101. I only followed the PowerPoints. In 102 it gets much tougher and I used the book as a guide but I wouldn't read the entire chapter because it's a lot! And you're not tested on everything that's in the book. The ATI books are awesome! They summarize everything for you and they have like 5 questions at the end of each chapter. So I definitely recommend that.
Congratulations! I am taking 101 right now. The powerpoints are important but I would definitely read the ATI books like May said. As long as you give yourself time to read you will be good. I was told from the instructor that if you don't read the book, at least read the highlighted parts and boxed parts, because normally thats important. Record the lecture as well if you can.
Hello,
Thank you, I will definitely do that. I have my friends book fro NU 101 and the ATI book to study ahead of time. They use Taylor, right? It is a great book. I love the questions at the end of the book. Do they give Prep-U assignments? or any assignments to complement the grade? I am also using Fundamentals success, it helps a lot to answer those questions. Any feedback is very much appreciated. Does any one of you work? I was accepted into the Day program, but because I will have to work due to life circumstances, I will try to see if I can switch to the evening program. I am not sure if that will be possible, but I will try.
We use prepU for practice questions it's a great resource. In 101 there are quizzes and 102 & 201 there are online quizzes to compliment the grade. ATI test counts for 5% of the grade. The success books are amazing! They were extremely helpful in 102 because it breaks down questions for each disease. I'm in the day program and I work about 15 hours a week but whenever I have an exam I don't work that week at all. That's what has been working for me. Plan the semester ahead. They give you a syllabus in the beginning of the semester so you know when exams are and try to work around that.

Yes! I am very happy for the opportunity. I received the e-mail, that says that they have accepted me, but can't give any details as they're working on the letters. I should be getting this week or the next. I am hoping to be able to take the classes that they require in the summer, just so it is out of the way.
I just hope that I am not put on the waiting list, when I first sent it, I was. It made sense because I sent it late in the spring of last year. Fingers crossed! :-)
