LATTC Fall 2017

Hello Everyone. I wanted to start a thread for LATTC fall 2017 cohort. I will be starting the nursing program here in august 2017. But I guess we really start in the summer 2017 for RN 119 intro to nursing course. Anybody else starting in Fall 2017, please let me know :)

FYI: I applied to over 25 different nursing schools throughout California. I was on the alternate list for Goldenwest, Pasadena and on the waitlist for LATTC. I applied to LATTC in April/May 2016 and got informed that i will be in the fall 2017 class. Getting into a nursing school in California is extremely difficult because of their point system process. Thank goodness LATTC doesn't do a point system. :) :)

I'm a first semester RN student, started in august-fall 2017. But we really started in summer 2017 for pharmacology and intro to fundamentals. Last week we had clinicals at California Hospital. Everything is going good. Be prepared to get very little sleep and to study your booty off for B's or C's. Nursing school is hard. I'm also the first semester Nursing representative for my cohort.

I had applied to over 25 RN programs. In the sciences I had 2 B's 1 C and overall a 3.0 GPA. On the TEAS exam i got 73%. I was wait listed at GoldenWest, Pasadena, Santa Barbara and LATTC. LATTC was the first school to contact me so I went with them.

Be strong, be determined and never give up on your dreams. You got this :)

Every cohort the days and times change. They even change on you when your about to start- example they split my cohorts clinical days/times into 4 different groups last minute. In nursing school, you have to leave everyday and time available. I had to stop working because my days/time kept getting changed. plan to be at school mon-fri 6am-4pm and you'll be fine.

Hi guys congrats on your acceptance. By any chance, do you guys know or have any idea how many days out of the week you will have to be in class/clinical.

Is it 2 or 3 days out of the week?

I'm just wondering how days will we be at school.

I would recommend you to BUY the med surg, fundamentals, and drug guide books. All of the others you can rent (also dont purchase the dictionaries or the study guide I did and never used them) i tell you to buy those book because you will also use them for 2 nd semester as well..
