president gloria macapagal arroyo said thursday a retake of the controversial june 2006 nursing board licensure tests 3 and 5 is the only remaining option to regain the integrity of the profession. at the same time, she also assured nursing students that government would be shoulder all expenses which would be incurred for the retake. however, she did not say if the subsidy would include expenses for those who will take review classes.. . .to this, mrs. arroyo replied: 'that's the problem. there's no way to determine the guilty. as of now that's the best way to determine who did not participate (in the leakage scandal). okay lang na i-subsidize ng government (ang retake) kasi 3 and 5 lang naman." . . .a retake of the nursing examination was the consensus among cabinet members during their tuesday meeting with president arroyo. it was not clear if the retake would mean a complete examination or exams for only the leaked tests 3 and 5. . . .the prc has taken a "no re-take" position.

the prc has taken a "no re-take" position.
what happened to the female witness who testified that tests 1 & 2 were also leaked?

sen. rodolfo biazon has gone a step further and wants the entire exam invalidated. biazon, who had opposed a retake, now supports it after receiving reports that questions in tests 1 and 2 were also leaked. "but right now because of another report and another witness is saying that it is not only tests 3 and 5 that had been leaked but also tests 1 and 2. so with this additional information i would now support a retake," he said.

were tests 1 & 2 also leaked?
is this planned retake of tests 3 & 5 "another bandaid solution?"
will there be another retake of tests 1 & 2 if these were later found to be leaked?
if i was entangled in this mess, i would rather clean the slate and take the entire december 2006 nle (hopefully there'll be a credible one) and not be labelled a "june 2006 nle passer."
just my opinion.
good luck to all the affected filipino nurses.

prc had released more or less 4000 licenses already..uhmmm i just cant understand the situation...meaning theyre gonna revoke it? this is gonna go a looong way i beleive...

If there is a court order asking the licenses to be revoked, then it means that even if the nurses already have their actual card on hand, it is considered invalid. Whether or not they return their actual licenses, when an employer checks with the PRC, the license would be non-existent.

cebu nursing board passers want exemption in exam retake
with the prc head ignoring the president's order, no wonder other people are starting to defy the president's order too.
if this keeps up, i don't think there'll be a retake in the next 10 years.

cgfns/ichp will need license validation directly from prc.

palace defers exam retake
executive secretary eduardo ermita said friday that the government is deferring its action on the retake of the nursing licensure examination until the court of appeals acts on a pending petition on the issue.
when can we expect to get the decision of the court of appeals?
when will the people accept the decision?
if people keep filing cases for and against this, it's gonna end up in the supreme court...and that'll be at least 2 years of limbo for the june 2006 nle examinees...

err we have a problem right now because of the leaked questions in test 3 and 5. Its only fair that we only retake test 3 and 5. Why do you even want the hassle of taking test 1 to 5 again haha.

If one wants to work in the Philippines then it is fine to follow whatever decision the PRC made but if ones want to work in the US then its different, CGFNS already said that a leakage happenned in the US, the usual thing to do is have everybody take the exam again because the credibility of the exam is tainted already.
If one wants to work in the US then he/she have to follow the rules of this country.
I know it is unfair for those who passed it the honest way but it is a bitter pill to swallow. Justice shoud be done for those involved in the scandal by sending them to prison instead of letting them go off the hook with a mere suspension. But I know this is in impossible because no government officials in the Philippines guilty of crimes go to jail.

if a retake of tests 3 & 5 are done, and it was later found that tests 1 & 2 were also leaked, will there be another retake of tests 1 & 2?
the witness in test 1 and 2 disappeared maybe because test 1 and 2 are not even leaked?
i don't want to speculate anyway, giving me a headache. besides as suzanne said "until the time that the prc actually releases an official statement as to how things are going to be handled, this topic is closed. arguing with each other over who did what, or who should do what, does not help matters, does not make any difference in the outcome of things.
only serves to cause bad feelings here.........."
we are all awaiting their decision, the palace, ca or prc's final decision so we can all move on. besides, as you can see the news are confusing, “laban or bawi” like you said, there is no real stand. it’s a real mess -_-
i don’t understand why there are interviewed articles anyway about the issue, if the nbi and court of appeals are not done with the hearings. if gma wanted a retake in the first place, she should have ordered that a long time ago. she just wasted everyone’s money especially the ust and baguio group. haha:smiley_ab
wahh i just said i don't want to talk about it anymore..

the larger picture has been discussed. now for the micro...
if i took the june 2006 nle
and passed due to my honest diligence,
studied real hard and did not cheat
if my own integrity is really that important to me...
i will take the exam again for my sake
clearly, my own future is at stake here
the government will have other issues to deal with later
and my current plight will become less important to them
they will definitely forget about me
do they even know my name right now?
as with anything else,
the current nursing leakage will be a part of history
and i will go on living
if only to rebuild the integrity tainted
not by my own doing but by greedy and corrupt people
i will take the exam again
i will pay for the fees if needed be
i will earn that later anyway
maybe even in us dollars
in the end
it is me and my family
who will mostly benefit from my hard work
not the government nor the court of appeals
especially not prc
neither will the individuals
who i rally with in the streets for "no retake"
since
i studied hard, worked diligently
and honestly to pass the june '06 nle
i will apply the same rules i've given myself before
to get through the retake
if i am a june 2006 nle passer
i will take time to realize
...that pressure and stress are a part of life
...that things will not always be fair for me
however i want them to be
...that anywhere in the world,
there will always be injustices made to honest individuals
it's just unfortunate that it is done to me
at this crucial time of my life and at this extent
...and that reality bites
so what's another exam to take?
