too late to apply H1 visa for registered nurse?

Published

I am a international graduate

BSN.

My opt expires in feb.2013

is this too late to apply for H1 visa?

I am currently working in a clinic but I applied clinical research nurse position at the hospital .

And I just had my interview at the hospital yesterday!

If I get the job as clinical research nurse . what kind of H1 visa should I apply for

H1b or H1c?

is it 100% sure or close to it to get the h1 visa if you are hired in Research nurse position at

the big hospitals?

does your income matters too?

how much income should you make to get the H1 visa as research nurse?

I just found the website says:

"Applications for the H1B Fiscal year 2012 can be filed starting April 1st, 2011.

The Fiscal Year 2012 will start on October 1, 2011 and will end on September 30, 2012."

Moved to the Advice on Immigration forum

Your employer has to file for H1b or C visa and only 15 hospitals are on the h1c list and the last I was aware H1c for nurses was not being renewed.

Unless hospital is a university of excused from the cap then you can't apply for H1b until April 2013 and can't start working until Oct 13

Hi,

I have finished BSN in May 2012. I am on H4 visa and looking for jobs. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but ready to relocate. As I know, This year's H1b visa are already over

Would you please tell me how do I do I find the hospitals who can do H1c? Can H1c be done any time like cap exempt H1b?

Thanks.

H1C expired on December 21, 2009 and has not been renewed as of this date. From the US Customs and Immigration Website: USCIS - H-1C Registered Nurse

Also H1c was only applicable to 14 or 15 hospitals and I don't think Milwaukee is one of the places that met criteria

The following 14 hospitals as currently eligible to file H-1C visa or status for foreign nurses:

  2. Beverly Hospital, Montebello, California
  3. Doctors Medical Center, Modesto, California
  4. Elizabeth General Medical Center, Elizabeth, New Jersey
  5. Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, Georgia

But eligibility for H1C ended December 21, 2009 so there is no point seeking out this visa as it is no longer an option in the US. It was extended twice and not on the agenda to be extended again.
