Last minute scheduling

I work 2 part time jobs and both my employers know it. One of my jobs contacted me early and I signed up for May shifts. Now today my other job calls me and wants me to work extra and I can't because I already promised the other job I would work on those days. What part of whoever calls me first gets to have me don't they understand? :angryfire Anyone else have these last minute type of schedules? :o

They figure its worth a shot I guess. I remember after I left my first job, the staffing office kept calling me in to work extra..I kept saying "what part of I quit last week don't you understand???"

Yes, they figured they could count on you for extra. These guys always figure they can talk you into doing more than you agreed to when you were hired. Just smile and say no if you can't do it. Have a great day.

Thanks for your messages sharann and barefoot lady. Yes these staffers are something else. The last minute staffer was angry :angryfire and very upset with me. She gave me a stern lecture about how I was working way too many hours at that other job. :uhoh3: However,I noticed she didn't offer to pay my bills so I wouldn't have to work at that other job.

Unacceptable! Was this on the phone? If so, I would have hung up on the little moron. I would not stand for her daring to lecture me. If in person, I would walk out on her. My life, outside what I have agreed to work, is MY business and planned by ME. Any staffer that couldn't understand that would just have to get over it.

Yes this is ridiculous! Yes she told me this on the phone. I was shocked speechless. She approached me again today in person and asked me again if I could work those days she had requested!!! :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire

What is wrong with these people!!! :angryfire :uhoh3:
