We had our final today. It was very difiicult. A good classmate/friend did not make it. I feel so bad for her and feel like she has so much potential. She waited SO long to be in the program, and now she is faced with this detour to her goal.
It's so hard to lose people (in class) you have gotten close to.

Yeah I know exactly how you feel regarding loosing people that you have started a relationship with. In my class we lost a few people I feel bad but they are allowed to take the class over. What about the girl in your class that failed is she allowed to take it over?

That is a hard thing. No real words. Sorry to hear about that.
Thanks for the kind words.
Naala - yes, she will be allowed to take it over but she has to wait a year.
It is just SO heartbreaking, because I can only imagine how devestated I would be.
Yes it can be very devastating but at least she is able to take it over..some school will just automatically kick you out and she would have to start from the beginning all over again.

Of the 80 people that started my program in January, only about 40 remained at the end of the first semester. They've filled in the holes in our second semester with people who failed the first semester of the fall program, so we're back up to 80 now, but they only have 64 available spots for our fall classes, which means they're expecting at least another 16 to fail out over the summer.
It is hard... some people who "passed" will make crappy nurses, IMO, while some people who didn't pass (by less than 1%) will make excellent nurses.
And I'm jealous of those of you with a 75% requirement for passing... in my program, a C ends at 78% and anything below 77.99% is an F. Probably 90% or more of my classmates who failed would have made it if the requirement here was 75%.
