hi, i am finishing my last semester of Lasalle's achevie program. I had Robert Strayer for pharmocolgy, he is a good instructor. I did buy all the recommended books as some instructors only read off their powerpoints. In lab, we did practice on each other or the manekins.

ooouuuuccchhhhhhh! sounds like alot of the practice on each other must have hurt.

but you don't have to expose yourself in any way do you? like practice the embarassing procedures on each other??

Specializes in SNF.

I dont go to Lasalle but I know someone who does...and no, no embarassing stuff(personal areas)

Hi Brooke: I am interested in the Achieve Program can you tell me a little bit about the program esp., the clinicals on the weekend? Please let me know.

[:lol2:Hi Miss Kim: Can you please tell me about the Achieve Program. I am trying to get in Sep 08. I would like to know about the clinicals and times on the weekend. Thank you sooooooooooooooo much.

I just graduated from the LaSalle Acheive program on Mother's Day of this year. Aside from a little disorganization, I thought it was a great program. I had Meryle Gurmankin for Nurs 307, Bob Strayer for Pharm, and Sharon Beck as well. All were great instructors. Bob Strayer was a riot in class and extremely knowedgable, and the other 2 were great as well. The clinicals differ for each class. Mostly on the weekends, but every once in a while they offer a weekday clinical if you so desire. The clinicals were either every other weekend Saturday and Sunday for 6 hours each day, or for the shorter semester courses (peds and ob), they are 12 hours every Saturday OR Sunday. I did buy the textbooks for each class, and they were needed. Also, digital recorders vary by teacher, but most instructors allow them. They really come in handy for studying. I just got my first job as a floor nurse, and the BSN really makes a difference- any other questions, let me know! Thanks!
