LaSalle Achieve Program

Anyone in this program or graduated from this program? How did you like it? Was it difficult to get accepted? Was there a waiting list?

Just make sure you have all the prereqs done. I was accepted into "Intending Nursing" and until I finish my 60 credits (which I am now)...then they re-evaluate you to be accepted into the real program. And now I still have to go interview and take the NLN.

Thanks. I am starting my pre-reqs in May at a community college. Are you taking your pre-reqs at La Salle? When are you planning to start the program, this fall or next fall?

No, I chose to take them at CCP (community)...it's cheaper, lol. I'm planning on starting this fall (2009). How much more of the prereqs do you need?

I need all of my sciences and psych classes. Yeah, community is a LOT cheaper! I live in Delaware so I'll be at Del Tech Community College. I will have to take Summer, Fall, and Spring classes. I hope to start La Salle in Fall 2010.

I sent my application for the ACHIEVE program on Monday. I want to make sure of what transfer credits they will accept so I don't miss anything. I guess I'll be in the Intending Nursing program too.

So they only make a decision on if you get in AFTER your pre-reqs are done? That stinks that I could do all this and still not get in. :(

Yup...after the prereqs...so that's what I'm saying...it could all be a waste...make sure you have a backup plan...especially with them doing all this extra stuff to weed you out...now I have to take the NLN which is like another $80 I have to spend...I am spending so much money on all these schools and background checks and transcripts and whatnot...jefferson's background check was $77!! What happened to $10?!?

LOL I know... I have to get a background check for PA and DE... DE is $45!

So when do you take the NLN? Have you been studying?

When will you be done your pre-reqs?

I just found out that I even have to take the NLN yesterday!! So I just ordered the study book and I'm trying to find a site that's offering it...PA is not even listed on the NLN site right now...

I'll be done my prereqs in the summer. After this semester, all I'll need is another philosophy and spanish. I could take them while I'm there since I do have 60 credits, but I rather get them done and just do nothing but nursing

I know that Delaware County Community College offers the NLN, but I think you have to be a student there to sign up for it. La Salle doesn't offer it? That's weird especially since they require it.

EDIT: Wait, DCCC offers the NET, my bad.

you can take the nln this saturday at jefferson for $40 BUCKS..

That's not the NLN, that's the NET exam... La Salle won't accept that.

I just got the review book yesterday...I am not too happy to find out that there's physics on the NLN...I have never taken physics and why would I have--it's not a nursing prereq...so I think I'm going to need a little time to let all this info marinate...I'd hate to rush and take it and totally screw it up, b/c once you take it you can't retake the exam for 6 months.

But with all these offers flying around, time is of the essence!

Since lasalle is BSN does anyone know if when you have enought credits for ASN can you take your RN licence and get to work? i want to go to lasalle and i am torn between them and a hospital diploma program...i want to work asap

I don't think so...they program starts after you gave two years of general ed...the last two years are all of their nursing courses--you most likely will not be able to transfer other school's nsg courses over.

And for anyone who went to the uniform fitting--aren't those the worst pants?!?
