LaSalle Achieve Fall 2012

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello all,

I wanted to start a thread for those of us who are starting at LaSalle's PT evening and weekend program this fall. I was accepted a few weeks ago, and I'm currently working on my compliance forms. Any one else in the same boat? Congrats and looking forward to meeting you!

Where did you find the deadline? The compliance officer, Nicole Taylor, told me its due July 1st.

I thought it was June 30, which may as well be July 1st. I have a question. Did anyone get a formal letter in the mail for your acceptance? I received an email and it contained the link to the background check info. When I emailed Kristin she said letters were going out but that was about 2 weeks ago.

Did anyone get a formal letter in the mail for your acceptance?

Yes, I received a letter in the mail at least one month ago.

I am so frustrated with the compliance forms!! I do not have health insurance, so I've been paying out of pocket for everything. I just got my Tdap at my doctors' office, but the medical assistant told me to try Quest Diagnostics for the blood work because if she drew it, it would have been $468!

Has anyone else had to buy health insurance for this program? What did you choose? The compliance officer told me that as long as it covers X-rays and hospital visits, it would be good enough. I'm having such a hard time understanding all of the different types of insurance (HMO vs PPO etc). Any help would be appreciated. I feel so overwhelmed!

lostinthesauce: sorry i took this long to respond..in terms of you getting prepared for 304&307, you dont really have to do anything...honestly take the summer to enjoy yourself b/c once you start it will be full speed ahead... and honeslty the classes arent that difficult...its fundamentals and intro to nsg! I have a PPO but its through employer based coverage, (which i know you dont have)... mxb164: let them know well in advance if your having a conflict with clinical... they do charge a make-up of $200!! so if you have a later event, it might be in your best interest to go to clinical and get to your event a little later if thats at all possible...otherwise you will just have to pay for clinical make-up...

lostinthesauce, you might be able to get the ppd and some of the vaccinations free at the health department.

What health department?

A few years ago I received a free ppd at the health department in Montgomery County. I'm not sure what services are offered by other counties. Most probably have a website.

Ok, great. I'll look into that. Thanks!

hey all,

yes i got a formal letter. i know this is late but what about the health clinic at lasalle for the immunizations? i have had all of my immunizations through work (i work at a hospital), but am shaking my head running around for the ppd, titers, etc... i did not get the "official" letter until the end of may and i don’t think they even finalized the database until the end of may. now it is down to the deadline and i need the second ppd (sched. for next week) and am waiting for my cpr card in the mail. are we penalized if we don’t have them? school starts in august so i am assuming that if we have everything done and are waiting for paperwork is it an issue.

i will have it all latest by july 15, but goodness a month is not enough time. oh well.

and goodness $200 bucks to miss a clinical! :uhoh3:

Right? I got an email acceptance on May 11 and have been scrambling to get everything done. I only just got my "official" letter because there was an issue with my address. I think the deadline is technically flexible. I still need my 3rd Hep shot which is not due until Nov. and found out that it's okay. Best of luck. Oy!
