World Canada CA Programs

Published

hi,

i got accepted into the sept 2007 program. how many of you are nursing students or pre nursing students in langara? and those who graduated or are current students - any tips on the courses, professors, practicum, books, tuition etc.?

come out, come out, wherever u are! :D

hey Ian, are you taking biology 1190 this summer semester ??

Hey guys, I got accepted to fall 2011 too.

I took a&p 1 and 2 and completed eng and was wondering how Phil 1105 is like and what to expect. Thanks.

are you taking philosphy this summer ?

I took it last semester with ** he was a really nice guy and that course was not bad, attend all your classes, review your notes and you should be good.

Lectures are kinda boring, 80% of the people bring their laptops and just surf the net or play games during the lectures.

Hope that helps, good luck !!

thanks

Thanks ucsmfu. Looking at the curriculum, nuring students dont have summers for 3 straight year so no I'm not taking Phil 1105 this summer but thinking of taking it in the first term tho. That's why I wanted to know the workload, since the first term is practically a lot of dry dry reading.

I just found this site and it sure is a great place for all of us Langara waitlisted people to find out more info! I'm #105 on the list now, with a projected start of September 2012. Sooner if we're lucky...

Anyway, I have a question to current students about working while being in the Nursing program. There are 3 shifts available at my job: 6:30am to 4:00pm, 4:00pm to 1:30am, and 9:00pm to 7:00am. I'll definitely have to rule out the first one, but could one of the other two possibly suit the Langara schedule a day or two a week? Unfortunately I won't have enough cash saved up to be able to only go to school and I'm hoping you guys can help me plan.

Thanks in advance!

I heard once you start clinicals in term 2 onwards, it is impossible to manage more than 1 shift of work per week. It really depends on the person, how they manage their time and schedule.

Hope that helps :)

Do you guys think it would be wise for me to take Phil 1105 during the first term?

if you have both 1190/1191 and english done, i think it would be fine to take philosophy

The date is getting closer and closer. Yikes! But excited at the same time.

Hi there,

I am on the waitlist for Langara nursing too, and I was wondering when did you get put on the waitlist? I got on around December.2009, and I got a letter last month that there were more than 100 people ahead of me and that my anticipated start date is Sept.2012. The thing is I have no idea whether I am in the early 100s or closer to the 200s..lol...Did you get this letter as well? Did your letter tell you your position on the waitlist?

Thanks so much for any help you can offer :)

Question: I am a Langara student but haven't applied yet for BSN program (because they stopped taking application until oct 2012 for the sept 2013 intake) but what are the chances of me to get in right away? I know they arent taking applications but will there still be a waitlist? Also does that mean the earliest i can apply is oct 2012 even if ill have all the requirements completed by then end of this year or i should anyways once im done everything? confusing, i know.

Hey s.reddy. They're currently trying to get rid of the current waitlist and so will not be accepting applications until 2012. They changed the admission system and it is no longer first come first serve, but merit based. You should double check with the updated requirements since they've changed it. And because it's merit based, they won't know the admission standard until the they assess the intake in 2012.
