I am planning to apply to Lakeview College of Nursing this coming year and I was hoping someone could help me out with the campus choices. I have to choose either the Danville or EIU Campus and, having never been to Illionois, I have no clue what the pros and cons of either are. Can any give me a rough idea? Thanks!

your just like me, kinda. i took some pre-nursing classes at eiu and come spring 06 ill be a full-time lakeview nursing student taking classes on eiu's campus....the reason i went this route is bc i like the environment more so around eiu that danville. it all depends what your looking for. if you still want to have the college experiance going out and having a goodtime with friends aside from studyin' 24/7 eiu's for you....if your planning to study study study and put your nose to the grindstone it will be much easier going to danville
are you accepted into the program? what semester would u start?

I am a December 2006 Lakeview graduate and I was on the EIU campus...I loved it! You still have the college atmosphere and affordable campus housing instead of living in an apartment somewhere in Danville (which is a nice area, but some parts are shady...) Any other questions, just ask....I enjoyed the program and received a very good education

I have been researching that college for the past week. I am currently finishing my pre-req's at lakeland on mattoon. I want to go to Lakeview, but statistics is a requirement and that is scary!!

I live in Danville and I would rather go to Eiu. Danville is a horrible place to live. Our crime rate has gone up so much it is scary just going to the gas station.. Besides I hear the Danville campus lost its accredidation.

This is in response to the students who are speaking of Lakeview College Nursing and accrediation. I am a student in my last semester and it has been a long hard road. I also have a Masters degree in Health Care Administration and find this college challenging. Lakeview campus DID NOT LOSE ACCREDIATION. Before you write something on the internet you need to find the correct information, this is part of being a nurse,,,yes? Accuracy is important...yes? We had a decline in passing the NCLEX so the administrative staff felt it necessary to raise the bar thus we must pass the ATI with level of 2 or 3 to pass our specfic course or we must repeat the course again. This is going to be difficult for some. I think it will be great for the school. I understand Lakeview has had issues in the past so lets move forward and make Lakeview a school in which we all can be proud of which to graduate from, we are on our way to doing this.
wow..all I said was that I heard they lost it, sorry to offend you. I know many of great nurses that graduated from there not saying it is a horrible school just Danville.
You did not offend I just want all to know we did not lose our license status. Lakeview is a hard nursing college. The instructors can be demanding some more than others just like any other nursing college. I just like accuracy thats all. Good luck with your studies and enjoy school, be a sponge and try to soak all up.
To the RNTOBE who is afraid of stats. If you take stats at Lakeview the instructor makes it easy to understand. He breaks it down into manageable chunks and presents information into fun facts, same with chemistry if you need it. Good luck to you too.
