Lakeland Regional Medical Center

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone work at LRMC currently or interviewed with them before? I'm from out of state. I have a phone interview scheduled with HR and I'm wondering what the interview/application process is like? How many interviews are there total? Any information about this hospital would be greatly appreciated!

I have an interview schedule pretty soon and nervous about what they'll ask. I'm a new nurse and curious about the starting pay and questions they may ask as well.

thanks

What position is it for? Is your interview with HR?

I worked here as a new grad. I now work in CA and in critical care, so I'm not sure what makes the biggest difference now, but let me give you some advice.

Lakeland was not a good fit for me. I read an article about how uneducated the area is and I think that had a lot to do with it. It was hard for me to make close friends. The patient population has a sense of entitlement without care compliance. This was frustrating.

I worked on a medsurg floor and sometimes had 6 patients on telemetry. It was sink or swim. I shutter at the shortcuts that were acceptable working there. Thankfully I never had a huge error but I caught many very, very scary ones. Looking back it worked out very well career wise for me, but it really is not a good hospital to start out in and if you have good experience then I think you'll be horrified to work there.

I would look at tampa general or orlando hospitals. From what I've heard, it's best to get out of the south. In CA I get adequate staffing, enforced mandatory covered lunches, breaks and education.

If this is where you have to start off and have no other choice, then go in with caution.

Thanks for the info!!

Hi Blueorchid-

I was just wondering how your phone interview went and what types of questions they asked? I got a call today for a phone interview and any tips you have would be really helpful!! Thanks!

Phone interview with the recruiter, she talked about the hospital, wage,, position, etc. questions were pretty straightforward. About my work experiences. Have you ever suggested something that was implemented, do you adapt well with change, how did you go above and beyond for a customer, where do you see yourself in five years, why Lakeland? The Skype interview I had with the unit had similar questions...why should we hire you? Nothing too difficult, hope that helps.

Thanks for the response...my interview is in a few weeks so we'll see how it goes! Do you mind me asking if you were offered a position? Also do you happen to know what the hourly wage & shift diff is? I asked the woman who scheduled my phone interview but she said she wasn't sure

The recruiter will be able to give you more accurate information. But with a BSN it's about $23.30, .50 cent less for ADN. Shift diff is roughly $3 more for nights and $5 more for weekend nights I believe.

I did get an offer but turned it down for a few reasons. Good luck to you!
