Hello does anyone know anything about Lake Havasu Regional Hospital and the pay rate for RN's? Im wondering if it is similar to the pay rates in the Phoenix area? Any information would be truly appreciated thanks a bunch!

I just interviewed and accepted a med/surg tele position. I am a new grad BSN with 6yrs as an LPN and they used 3 out of my 6yrs to determine my wage. They pay 22-32/hr and use the EOE federal guidelines/formula to determine wages. They informed me it is non negotiable. They are paying a sign on bonus and relocation expenses total $5000. 2500 now and 2500 after 2yr contract.
I recently had a telephone interview for the step down telemetry unit. We did not discuss wages, but I had been talking with a recruiter for a travel position there and he said the pay was 23.00/hr I failed to see how they could ever attract a nurse with experience with that amount, a new grad maybe? I attended nursing school in the phoenix area and the pay for new grads there was 25 to 27 depending if they counted your previous nursing experience to calculate your wage. I was told they wanted to fly me there for an onsite tour and interview but I havent heard back as of yet. When are you starting? Can you please come back and update us on what its like there and how your enjoying the hospital? Thanks for stopping and replying : )
Yes You are right...I am not excited about the wage..I am taking a pay cut by $6/hr...but for me the experience is priceless....as the opportunities are dry here in the valley for New Grads! I actually had Banner tell me to look out of state! I think that with the economy and an influx of new grads the pay scale has been lowered significantly.
When I interviewed at Havasu they were concerned about me gaining my experience and then leaving in 1-2yrs. I am more used to small towns and love the feel of the Lake Havasu environment ..And they have made a lot of upgrades and changes...I am excited to stay awhile. Good luck to you and I hope to see you there.
tlc365 I have been searching for an apartment in the lake havasu area, im thinking more about staying at an extended stay hotel or an apartment complex that has short term leasing for travelers and what not first so that I can get a feel for what side of town I like best. Do you know of any off hand or did the recruiter recommend any to you?
Thats what I was thinking also...I have not decided where to stay yet. I am still trying to figure that out as well. I have no suggestions but the Hosp HR person Maggie said I could go with the hotel I stayed at for the interview at 75/nite...um no thanks! I called a guy who manages condos and he said $500/ 10 days for a 1 bedrm..he said several travel RNs stay there. Still too expensive for me...so if you have any leads let me know! Hopng for the best and will find something I am sure. I cannot secure a place until my next pay check this Fri and plan on being out there on Sunday or Monday,I was told orientation starts on Tues Aug 16. So we'll see. Keep in touch!
tlc365 Have you had any luck with finding an apartment yet? Have you started yet and if so how do you like it so far? Goodluck with your move and all!
No staying in a hotel starting on Monday, when i get my first check with the relo assist i can get a home to rent! Thanks for asking...are you starting there. Orientation starts tues-thurs next week.
I still have yet to come down for my second interview she said she needed a week in advance and I still have not contacted her to decide on a date I will send her an email tomorrow and let her know when I will be available to fly down. Im so nervous but I know I can do it, No one mentioned anything about relocation assistance Im wondering if they will mention it to me once I get there? Anyway enough about me goodluck for Monday and I will update you : )
Do you know the night shift diff?
I hope you do come for the interview once you get there you will see its a really nice facility and the people were very welcoming has a nice friendly "small town feel" that is why i chose to accept the position. I dont know nite shift diff pay but nites also gets more sign on bonus. My body just cant handle niteshift, but good luck to you as well!! Lets keep in touch. I will post in a couple weeks after i get started to let ya kno how it is!:redpinkhe
I have moved into a house in Havasu and finished my first 2wks orientation and was given a week off to move thanks to the amazing unit supervisor, Blondie!! Everyone has been so helpful on the unit and the team environment is great!! I am taking on a full 6 pt load this week and may need to have another week to have a shadow follow me to be sure I am ready to be on my own. It is a very busy unit but the fellow nurses are great. So happy that I am here. :redbeathe:redbeathe:yeah:
