Hello everyone, I haven't seen any forums for LAHC ADN (Fall 2021) so I decided to make one. The latest email I have received from them was last week (April 5 2021) and it was about asking for TEAS scores. Feel free to share your stats and to comment to stay updated! ?
Do you mean graduating and then doing an RN-BSN program later on? I’m not sure, I guess it depends on the job and when you plan on doing it..? I have a friend who’s about to graduate from Glendale and she started a bridge program the Summer after her first 2 semesters. So my plan is to do something like that as well just to get it done!

I think a BSN is a BSN no matter if you went straight to a 4 year program or did the RN-BSN bridge!

I was thinking of also doing the RN-BSN bridge programs that LAHC have with other CSUs. One of them is Calstate LA, I was hoping to do the bridge program with them. Do you live nearby from LAHC? I was hoping to find some other students who might have to move nearby and we could share the rent. Let me know please if you know someone like that. Thank you!

I have an almost 3 year old so having to drive 40min (LAHC) vs like 10-15min to SAC really makes a difference. Plus, I know a few people that went there and really liked the program! Their NCLEX pass rate is above 90 which matters too
Hi! If you don't mind me asking do you know if those people have anything to say about LAHC's high attrition rate for its nursing program? I just got accepted my admission for Fall 2021 and I'm pretty excited, but according to the official .gov website, the attrition rate from 2013-2017 has been near 50%.

Sadly, I don't know anyone I know who got accepted into the program and is planning to move.

Hello, Congratulations getting into LAHC's nursing program! Yeah, I saw that the attrition rate is high too. However, their NCLEX passing rate is 100%. I do not know the exact factors that are causing it specifically for this program, but based on general research:
1. Students flunk out - High standards of LAHC (5th in the state) and their standards are set high to weed the weak students out (referring back to #1).
2. Students realize that nursing school is not for them
3. Health/Personal circumstances
4. Lottery system of LAHC

Hi! I was actually referring to Santa Ana but I do know someone currently at LAHC and they say that the program is brutal but I guess it’s known to be that way. If I was closer to LAHC I’d go there. For my situation, every minute counts!
I’m not sure exactly what makes it brutal enough for them to have that high of an attrition rate but I believe that no matter where we go, it’s going to be difficult and we’re going to have to make a lot of sacrifices to excel!

I got accepted as an alternate, so I hope a spot will open up for me for the semester. Best of luck to us alternates!
Congratulations on getting accepted as an alternate, I hope you get it soon! Do they give out which alternate you are on the list?

Do we have to email them our background check? I thought it was automatic that CastleBranch would share our info with the nursing program. No, I haven't received anything yet besides the acceptance letter.
EDIT: I just emailed them my results just in case! ? Thanks
