Don't have much advice but be yourself, go over basic nursing interview questions (google) and show your enthusiasm for labor and delivery!

Good luck and congratulations on getting an interview!

Specializes in Emergency.

what hospital, if you don't mind saying. If it's one we've heard of, maybe we could be more specific, if not then yeah google is your best bet. They usually ask. Why L and D, over all other specialities, tell me about a difficult patient and how you handled it. Weakness and strengths.

I would try not to scream.

Good luck! I think working in L&D would be pretty awesome.

Hope you get the job!

:)

Specializes in Med-Surg/Neuro/Oncology floor nursing..

They'll probably ask you why you want that position. Seemingly easy question to answer but one that's actually harder to answer than you might think.

"I want to help people"

"I love babies"!

Are definitely trite so try to come up with something original. Try not to be so nervous(I know it's hard not to be nervous..but try to relax) and of course don't get your hopes up too high(just in case you don't get the job)...celebrate after you know the job is yours!

Good luck! I am sure you'll do great. It's also good that you are applying for the position at the hospital you are working at now. Being on your home turf definitely helps!

Thanks guys! I will let you know if I get it :)

I had my interview! It went well actually..still waiting for the final decision..hoping to get it...

Specializes in Cardio-Pulmonary; Med-Surg; Private Duty.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that "welp" ("]whelp) is in the title of an OB/GYN thread?

(And OT, but I've never understood... what is "welp" supposed to stand for? Some hybridization of well+gulp?)
