La Roche University ELMSN Program (Pittsburgh)

Updated:   Published

Hello!

I'm wondering if anyone else has heard about/applied for this program?

Yeah me too even $800. There’s a nice apartment called The Cosmopolitan. Also my factor is the Ashby at South Hills. Those are really nice

I’ll check those out. Thank you ! Also, I checked out the fb groups and there is another one called the ELMSN student group. I just added them so hopefully I can find more ppl looking to roommate

Okay! I messaged a person who’s in the current semester and they told me that before the program starts Jenny emails out a list of students in the program looking for a roommate. Also the facebook group for our cohort is probably gonna be made in a few months

Wow that’s even great. Thanks again

You’re welcome. If you need more information I have it. I messaged two different people from the semester right next and they told me a lot

Hey @noel capri, I am currently in the process of applying for the program, but I am having such a hard time finding information about the program because it's so new!  You have mentioned that you have spoken to a couple of current students already.  How did you get in touch with them? Would you mind sharing what you have learned about the program itself? How are the classes? How is the school support system? And also, how was the whole admission process for you?

Thanks!

Also applying for this, I live about 25 minutes away and am interested in what current students think !

I spoke to someone on facebook and she answered all my questions so I think I can answer some for you or I can give you her facebook account so she can help you

@Noel Capri, that would be wonderful. Though, I do not do FB.

In general, I've been looking at either Misericordia ABSN or La Roche ELMSN. I'm leaning towards La Roche because it is so incredibly close to me.

Hey @NurseWanabeeSorry I just saw your message now I’m sorry for the late response! I actually found a facebook group with the Spring 2021 cohort and I think we will get one as well once it’s closer to our start time. I found the group and I posted on their page asking if anyone knew anything about the program and someone messaged me and she answered all my questions LOL. She told me that the classes right now and that they only go to class 5 times out the month. She said that there’s a lot people in there cohort so they all can’t be in the building since COVID.

My admission process was so easy and simple I got in literally a week after I applied. I sent int my transcripts and I did a quick little phone interview type thing. She called me the next week and told me I got in! I was supper shocked because most schools take way longer to tell you your admissions decisions

I would honestly go for the ELMSN only because you’re getting a masters degree but I would say that if the other school you’re considering is giving you money for the tuition you should do that one. La roche doesn’t have any scholarships so we would have to get outside scholarships which is kinda difficult. We only get loans from them. The girl I spoke to said we get about 11k for direct plays loans and 11k for unsub loans per semester

The cost of attendance is about 11k-12k per semester. Also school is either Monday Wednesday Thursday Friday or Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday depending on which one they assign you to. She also said that there’s really no breaks. The most breaks they get is in august for a week.

Not sure if anyone is still paying attention to this forum but... I am interested in applying to the program so I am awaiting a call from the admissions office as I cannot find where on the website to begin applying. How is the program going for you all so far? I saw that someone received a decision back in a week, was that the case for others? Does anyone know what their admission rate is and/or how many people are in your cohort? When I chatted with someone on their website, I told them my GPA and they said it was good, would anyone care to share their stats? Thanks in advance!
