LA County ADN Programs Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello!

I thought I would set thread up for people who are going to apply to LA County ADN programs for Spring 2019. I'm trying to go to all the information sessions before applying but noticed that some schools don't have info sessions or have not posted dates. This post may be early but I figured since some schools start accepting applications in July might as well start preparing since July is coming up fast! I am still debating on schools but I am going to apply to LA+USC Allied, Rio Hondo, PCC, and Mt. Sac for sure. Also, I hope to connect with people who are in the same boat as I am when it comes to applying for Spring 2019 admission.

I also plan to apply to Mt.Sac and LA+USC Allied. I hope you have already reserved your seat to attend the LA+USC Allied Workshop. There was no information on their website up until recently. They are hosting workshops Tuesdays and Fridays in July and their online application opened up today. Anyone else applying online having trouble inputting college attended and employment? I've updated my computer and enabled pop-ups, but i am still having trouble completing the application.

Hello,

I had to call LA+USC to find out when they were going to hold their information sessions. I was able to sign up for a July info session and still debating if I should apply there since it's so competitive. I want to hear what they have to say about the applicants and what not. I am applying to Mt. Sac but taking my time as I still need to take the HESI.

If you have the grades you should definitely apply anyways. LACCONAH goes based off a point system & said their cut off has been in the 80's. I plan on applying & taking the TEAS exam with them since it gives me time to study. She said late Aug-early sept would be test date. In regards to Mt.Sac, have you studied for the HESI? Or scheduled a test date w/Mt. Sac?

Yea, I have to look at their requirements and look at where I would fall in the points spectrum. I am studying for the HESI right now and I am scheduled to take it on the first testing date which is July 31st.

Hello, I applied to LACCONAH too. I called they said they wont know what is the cut off points for Spring until they are done taking applications and are done reviewing them. I still applied even tho my points were in the 70's.

I just went to a LACCONAH information meeting and when I spoke with the RN who was in charge about the cut off points she said that it was 80 points. She encouraged people who are in the 70's to apply as the applicants per semester would vary. It seems extremely competitive but definitely worth going through the program. The school has a lot of options to pay off the cost in various ways. Good Luck!

Hey guys, have you taken the Teas already?

LA County's acceptance emails have already been sent out. Does anyone know if County guarantees a job with one of their hospitals if we sign the service payback option?

Can any current student who is in the program tell me if the professors allowed the recording of lectures in class for your studying?

County does not guarantee a job with the service payback option, but the majority of the students I know were able to land a job with county.

I graduated already, but there were only few instructors that did now allow recording.
