To tell you the truth, I am lazier now that my test date is near. But I am focusing on answering questions in the internet, I found amazing sites that offers practice tests from kaplan and etc for free. I am also answering Lippincott's Q&A Review. I am plannning on answering La Charity (for the third time) a week before my exam date.

How many hours do you study per day? I'm just wondering because I feel so bad I only study for 4-6hours max, with a lot of breaks. :)

I also take my test on the 22nd. I have been using Saunders and Exam Cram. After reading this I ordered LaCharity which doesnt come until Tues. I hope a week is enough time to focus on that book :( :uhoh3:

To: Jabwemet,Illbeanrn, and Chillceb here are some things that I know will help you to CRITICALLY THINK to help you STAY FOCUSED & PASS YOUR BOARDS if you follow these rules: (1) If the question asks what you should do in a situation, use the nursing process to determine which steps in the nursing process would be next.

(2) If the question asks what the client needs, use Maslow's hierarchy to determine which need to address first!!!

(3) If the question indicates that the client does not have an urgent physiologic need, focus on the pt's safety!!

(4) And last if the question involves communicating with a patient, use the principles of therapeutic communication!!!

STAY FOCUSED USE THESE RULES AND I AM SURE YOU WILL ALL PASS AND LAST PRAY AND THINK POSITIVE!!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND PRAY FOR ME BECAUSE I AM JUST STARTING OUT WITH THE EXCELSIOR PROGRAM AND LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING TO WHERE YOU ALL ARE NOW!!!! LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ALL DO!!!

I study 3-4 chapters of La Charity per day so in less than a week I was able to finish the book, at least the first part of it. I didn't answer the case study. Goodluck to the both of us! :)

One of my co-workers who recently took her boards used the book by LaCharity she said that the test is mostly delegation and prioritization, and Assignments and has a lot of questions with multiple answers if this is in any way helpful to you all because it gives you all and idea of what the new boards are like and what to expect. Pray, Study and just Focus and I am sure you will all do fine and follow those 4 tips I gave you!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
