I didn't make the cut. Apparently because I met my degree requirements in Dec, but didn't actually grad until after the Mar 31 cut off, I did not make the "first come, first served" list. I feel like that basically means that everyone applying has to take at least one year (or realistically, a year and a half) off in order to qualify for admission. They should really change their cut off date to April 30 to be more in line with other programs. UBC allows for applicants to complete courses by end of June, even after acceptance. So this seems very strange to me. And in addition, they made me wait until June 4th to find out I wasn't in! I was at least hoping I would make the waitlist.
Oh well... next year. Congrats to all those who made it in for this year though. It looks like it will be a great program, and I look forward to meeting you all next year when you are Second Years.
I think we will get a booklist once we register for our classes. From my understanding, they recommend buying electronic textbooks because it's cheaper and easier to carry around (on your Ipad).
How did you know that was the reason why you didn't get in? Did they mail it to you? Also, how do you know if you make the waitlist? Will it say waitlist on your application? Thanks!
