Hi all! I was just curious if anyone had already been accepted to Kwantlen's BSN Post-Baccalaureate Program for September 2015?
I know some people have already heard back and been accepted to the BSN PB, but I hadn't heard anything (probably because I just finished my second part of A & P three weeks ago). But it is not hopeless yet… I just spoke with Pam and she said acceptance letters will go out beginning of June. She apologized that they are kind of behind right now. She said the fastest way to know about acceptance is to keep checking online using your student number, as it will change there first (right now, it should say "under review" if you have completed all requirements).

I know what you mean koko302. I keep checking to see if my status has changed about three or four times a day! It could be another two weeks before we know. I'm thinking that those who were accepted already are the ones who had all requirements met by the March 31st cut off. I was not finished my A&P until mid April, so I think that puts me in the second (or third) round of acceptances (after those who decline their offers allow for more seats to become available). I have basically been told if I don't get in this year, next year should not be an issue, since it's first come, first served.
I made the trip to Vancouver last Friday and had an appointment with the UBC advisor who told me the Kwantlen program is just as good a program as the UBC one, but KPU gets more government funding, and therefore has newer and nicer sim labs. After having a little tour of the UBC classrooms and labs, I then went to the KPU Langley campus to check out the facilities and was really impressed. The UBC advisor said that although their program is only 20 months, while KPU is 27, it's simply because the UBC program has been denied by the government to have theirs extended to 24 months. She said something to the effect that because they are turning out good nurses in only 20 months the govt sees no reason to make the program longer. This means students are under a lot of pressure to absorb everything in a shorter period of time. So basically, KPU just allows more time to learn the same information, and has less challenges when it comes to equipment, technology, space, etc. I was really glad I went.
