Hi everyone, I decided to make a thread for everyone who has applied for the 2016 intake for the psych nursing program at Kwantlen. Just wondering what GPA have you applied with? and when will they start letting people know if they have been accepted or not?

Are you looking at the 2014-2015 curriculum or the 2015-2016 curriculum? and which classes? I asked the admissions lady if we will be using the new curriculum or not and she said she doesn't believe the new one has been approved yet so we will most likely be using the 2014-2015. Sorry that was long winded lol

She said it depends on where you have your clinical placements. Some places don't require them while some do. When we do med surge we will need them for sure. She also said they didn't get them from the program and that they had to purchase their own themselves. Her program started over 4 years ago so that might have changed.

Hey! I can view my registration time on mykwantlen now. It's March 7th & 4pm. I was also wondering about the one health sciences course that wasn't showing up in the course search, but your probably right AndreaS22! Does anyone have the 2014-15 curriculum? I can't seem to find it. Or even Just what the first two semesters include?

Found it! it just wasn't coming up on my phone I guess. Thank you :) I have an appointment with an advisor on Monday because I want to be sure that some of the courses that I have already finished for the program are all good and I don't have to do them again. While I am there I am going to ask if they will know the final decision on the curriculum change before registration begins.

Did you apply as a mature student or post secondary ? If you don't mind sharing :)

I don't mind at all. I applied as a high school student...even though I graduated in 2006! I have post secondary, but at the time of applying for the program I only had 18 credits and I believe you needed around 24 to be considered a post secondary student.

Oh awesome!! Did you take the courses at Kwantlen? I have some classes i want to transfer from langara!

Yes I did take them at Kwantlen, but I completed their care aide program in 2009 and if we are going to be using the new curriculum I believe I don't have to take the personal care skills course again, so I'd like to inquire about that! I've done the anth, sociology, psych, eng, and the photography course for the old curriculum so that's gonna be a big load off while doing the A&P as its quite dense! What courses have you done at Langara? My appointment is at 1 today, maybe I'll see you there?!
