Hi everyone!
I recently received an offer of admission to Kwantlen's BSN Post-Baccalaureate Program in which you can get your Bachelors in Nursing in 27 months. This program is to commence in Sept 2013.
I was wondering if anyone has any feedback regarding this program. What's it like compared to the Undergraduate BSN 4-year program at Kwantlen? How is the program in general compared to other BC Nursing Programs? etc.... Any help or information is appreciated!
If you have also been accepted to the program or is thinking of applying, feel free to comment!
Has anyone here applied for the Fall intake?
I applied for the Fall 2017 intake, which opened back in Nov 2016. I had 1 more course, which I just finished a few weeks ago, to finish before submitting my transcripts. Before submitting my transcript, I notice that they added some new requirements with a GPA min along with the note, "These changes will appear in the 2017-18 University Calendar to be published in June 2017". So I assumed that the changes would be in effect for applications after that date, since they weren't on the page at the time that applications opened, and send in my transcript anyways. I checked my application status today and see that my GPA requirements are not met..
I tried contacting KPU admissions to ask about this and they say the person I spoke to claims that the GPA requirement was always there. Has anyone else who applied noticed if the GPA min was always a requirement or just recently added? I realize that whether or not it was, I can't really do anything about it at this point if they're going to make it a requirement. I'm just curious to see if I just completely overlooked that or if they actually changed the requirements after applications opened. I was just so positive that I only needed to finish that 1 course to have met all the requirements for applying.
Ah, I see. That's unfortunate because I read the requirements carefully in the summer when I enrolled in the fall course thinking that I only needed to finish that to apply. I was pursuing the wrong major in my first few years and did poorly so my CGPA is just 2.5
This is very disheartening but there isn't much I can do about it now.

Hi Shufs,
Just saw this post. Sorry for late reply but I've noticed that as well and I got the same reply from KPU as well!

Have you joined an online info session? I believe it's held every other thursday, it was helpful.
"how is the practical stuff done? is it an every day thing during the term where you have to go to a clinic or facility or something? Do they give you a choice of where?"
It depends on the semester/focus. you get 24 shifts of practicum starting semester 3, but nothing before that.

Hello,
I am thinking of applying for this school in November for the Sept 2017 intake. I've done five years of university and have a degree and am sick of classes so I feel as though this program would be good. Did anyone from Alberta go into the program? Did your physiology and anatomy classes transfer over? I'm concerned about this because I didn't have a lab in my classes.
Thanks
