Hi fellow students,
I'm 45, I have 3 semesters to go for my BSN, married with one 8 yr old. This fall I'm taking 10 credits (2 classes and 2 clinicals). I just started a PCA job at a reputable hospital in town. I'm worried as heck I'm not going to be able to handle it. I'll be working every Friday plus every other weekend, my shifts are 3-11:30 p.m.. The good thing is we can schedule our own shifts every 6 weeks. I'm in the middle of a freak-out right now.
Is it wise to work part-time? Should I switch to a PRN position?
Thanks!

Only you can answer that question taking into account your work ethic, family support, and study habits.

I had to work part-time while raising a family, and going to school FT. I don't know if it was Kosher, but it certainly made want to Halal at times.
